Early in my career, the larger vessels that I had made were often purchased by designer/architects and used as table bases. I felt that this violated the spirit of the piece and thus began my evolution into furniture. I began to make what I thought furniture should be and it was often stimulated by my own personal needs. My first furniture pieces were often pedestals which could be used to display the vessels I had been making.
